洗衣服≠Wash clothes

洗是Wash，洗衣服是Wash clothes嗎？

才不是呢！

用“wash”來表達“洗”，偏向于中式思維。

在英語中，雖然“wash” 的意思是“洗滌，沖洗”，但沒有那么具體化，不能確定“在哪洗”或“洗什么”。

洗衣服

do the laundry

“laundry” 指“洗衣店，洗衣房，要洗的衣物”。

比如《老友記》、《生活大爆炸》等一些美劇中，可以看到劇中人物帶著大量的衣物到洗衣店里清洗，這種公用洗衣房就是“laundry”。

“do the laundry” 才是英語中“洗衣服”的地道表達方式。

當然有時在英式英語中，也用“do the washing”表達“洗衣服”。

例句：

Its a good day to do the laundry.

今天是個洗衣服的好天氣。

情景對話

A: This sucks! The washing machine is broken! Whats wrong with it? Oh, and we dont Have any laundry detergent either.

吃藥 ≠ Eat medicine

在中文里一提到吃，就想到Eat，但在英文中關于吃，普遍使用的動詞是Have，吃午飯Have lunch，喝咖啡Have a coffee，要注意的是，吃藥的動詞一定要用Take。

正確用法是：Take medicine

例句：

Her doctor says she has to rest and take medicine twice a day.

醫生說她必須休息，并且每天要吃兩次藥

開 / 關燈 ≠ Open / Close light

對于電子設備的開關，不能直接對應中文中的Open或者Close，比如開關手機，電腦，電視，動詞可以用Turn或者Switch

正確用法：Turn on / off 或者Switch on / off

例句：

Dont be scared. Ill turn on the light.
