There be 結構There be結構表示“某地或某時有某人或某物”。

其特點主要有三個：

1.該句型的一般疑問句形式要將be動詞提到there之前。

其肯定回答為：Yes, there be 的適當形式，

否定回答為：No，there be的適當形式 not.。

例句：—Is there a bank in the neighborhood? 這兒附近有銀行嗎？

—Yes,there is. 是的，有。

2.該句型的否定句形式是在be動詞的后面加not。

例句：There aren’t any books on the desk. 桌子上沒有書。

3.該句型中be動詞人稱或數的變化與離它最近的名詞保持一致。如果有兩個或更多的名詞，be動詞要與它最靠近的名詞保持一致，即遵循“就近原則”。

例句：There are two pencils and a pen in my pencilcase.

= There is a pen and two pencils in my pencil case.

在我的鉛筆盒里有兩支鉛筆和一支鋼筆。

There be結構的用法：

there be結構可譯“有”，be后跟著名詞走。如果名詞是單數，當用is記清楚。

如果名詞是復數，用are一定要記住。 并列主語特殊記，“就近原則”用仔細。

某人有某物要用have。

例句：I have a cute dog. 我有一只可愛的狗。

Mr. Smith has short straight hair. 史密斯先生留著短直發。

二、問路及指路的表達方式

1.問路的句型

例句：Where is the post office? 郵局在哪兒？

Excuse me. Can you tell me the way to the Summer Hotel?

Is there a park near here，please? 請問這兒附近有公園嗎？

How can I get to the nearest post office? 請問去最近的郵局怎么走？

2.指路的句型

例句：It’s across from/near/next to the hospital.它就在醫院對面/ 附近/ 旁邊。

Go along/down this street. 沿著這條街往前走。

Turn left/right at…在……向左/ 右轉。

Turn right at the third crossing, and then walk straight.

在第三個十字路口向右拐，然后一直朝前走。

Take the second turning on the right/left. 在第二個拐彎處向右/ 左拐。

表示方位的短語

（1）on the left/right 意為“在左/右邊”。

例句：Who is sitting on your right?誰正坐在你的右邊?

(2) next to…意為“在……的旁邊，緊挨著……”。
