Playing Frisbee

玩飛盤

Mom: The weather is so nice today.

媽媽：今天天氣真好。

Lets go to the park!

我們去公園吧！

Its a good opportunity to get some exercise.

這是個鍛煉身體的好機會。

Child: Can we play frisbee?

寶寶：咱們能玩飛盤嗎？

I dont know how to use it, so can you show me how?

我還不知道怎么玩，你能教教我嗎？

Mom: Thats a great idea.

媽媽：好主意！

Lets go out and I will show you.

咱們出門吧，我來教你。

? At the Park 在公園

Mom: First, we need to find an open area with plenty of space.

媽媽：首先，我們要找一片地兒足夠大的空地。

Child: How about over there?

寶寶：那邊怎么樣？

Mom: Perfect! Before we throw it back and forth,

媽媽：好極了！在我們來回來去扔之前，

扔飛盤的扔既可以用throw，也可以用toss。

let me show you how to throw it and catch it.

我給你示范一下如何扔、如何接。

Here is the frisbee, some people might call it a disc.

這是飛盤（英文有兩種說法）。

Hold it with the open side down,

開口面朝下拿著，

with your thumb on the top

拇指在上，

and fingers holding onto the edge.

四指握住邊。

Or, you can place your index finger against the edge

或者，你也可以用食指扣住邊，

and the rest of your fingers underneath like this.

剩下三個手指像這樣在底下。

Then, bring it back towards you

然后，把它朝自己這邊往回收，

by bending your elbow and curling in your wrist.

胳膊肘彎曲、手腕往里卷。

Then swing it back out with your arm

然后胳膊再甩出去，

and let go to let it fly.

松手，讓它飛出去。

Watch me.

Child: Nice job, Mom.

寶寶：好棒啊，媽媽。

Ill try now.

? The child throws it 寶寶扔

Child: It just went to the ground.

寶寶：它直接朝地上去了。

Mom: Its okay.

媽媽：沒關系。

Try to be a little smoother when you throw it

扔的時候再連貫一點，

and aim it up just a little.

角度再往上一點。

? The frisbee goes straight to the ground again 飛盤又直沖向地面了

Child: Oh, no!

寶寶：哎呀！

Mom: Its okay.

媽媽：沒關系。

I think its because you didnt let go at the right time.

可能是松手的時機不太對。

? Mom moves further away

媽媽離得更遠了

Mom: Now try to aim for me.

媽媽：現在朝我扔。

Try to do it quickly with a flick at the end.

扔的時候動作要快，最后手一彈。

There you go!

這回對了！

Good job!真棒！

Child: Wow! I did it!

寶寶：哇！成功啦！

? Child throws it some more 寶寶繼續練習

Mom: It seems that youve got the hang of it.

媽媽：你好像找到竅門了。

Now, I will show you how to catch a frisbee.

現在我來教你如何接飛盤。

You can use two hands and grab it at the sides,

你可以雙手去抓飛盤的邊，

or you can use a method called pancake

或者你可以用拍餅法，

where you catch it with one hand on the bottom

接它的時候一只手在下，

and one hand on top of the frisbee

一只手在飛盤上，

and slap your hands together.

雙手一拍。

You use whichever way you find easier to start with.

一開始你覺得哪種方法更簡單，就用哪種方法。

Child: Okay, can I try now?

寶寶：好的，我現在能試試嗎？

Mom: Yes, lets stand close together to start with

媽媽：嗯，我們一開始先站近一點，

and the better we get at throwing and catching,

等咱們扔接熟練了，

we can move further away from each other.

我們就可以離遠一些了。

? Child misses it 寶寶沒接住

Child: Oops!

寶寶：哎呦！

? and picks it up and throws it to Mom

撿起來，再扔給媽媽

Child: There!

寶寶：走你！

Mom: You did great for a beginner!

媽媽：作為初學者，你已經很棒啦！

It does take lots of practice to throw it to your partner so they can catch it.

扔給別人，能讓對方接得住，確實要多練習。

Now, we can continue to toss it back and forth,

現在我們可以繼續來回扔，

or we can designate certain areas to be targets,

或者我們也可以劃分出不同的目標區域，

which will each be worth some points.

每個有特定的分值。

We can see who can get the most points after a number of tries.

我們扔一定次數之后，看看誰的得分最高。

Child: Lets try the game.

寶寶：咱們試試比賽吧。

It seems easier.

看起來更簡單。

Mom: Sounds good!

媽媽：好呀！
