熊大跳槽去了外企，很不習(xí)慣，所以周末約上同行業(yè)的老前輩一起聊天，熊大說(shuō)太好了，您是行業(yè)的老前輩，我要向您多請(qǐng)教，結(jié)果英文說(shuō)成了old staff，對(duì)方一聽(tīng)，竟然說(shuō)自己是old staff，也不樂(lè)意了，小聲嘀咕I’m not old!

1、老員工不是old staff!

old作形容詞有這么幾個(gè)意思

? (NOT YOUNG/NEW) having lived or existed for many years

老的;年老的;古老的

? from a period in the past

過(guò)去的;舊時(shí)的，從前的，以前的

? (especially of a friend) known for a long time

(尤指朋友)老的，結(jié)識(shí)久的

old friend就是認(rèn)識(shí)很久的老朋友，那么除了上面這幾個(gè)意思可以用old外，其它時(shí)候說(shuō)道“老”我們就要認(rèn)真考慮一下，最好換個(gè)詞來(lái)形容了。

說(shuō)別人是old staff，和我們說(shuō)上歲數(shù)的老阿姨老爺爺差不多，很不禮貌哦，在國(guó)外也盡量避免直接面對(duì)別人說(shuō)old man，可以用“the aged”表示“老人”

所以老員工也可以說(shuō)，是資歷深，工作時(shí)間久，工作上的前輩。以下幾種表達(dá)是皮卡丘比較推薦的。

①a longtime staff member=來(lái)了很久的員工

②an experienced staff member=經(jīng)驗(yàn)豐富的員工

③experienced employee

④Senior staff=高級(jí)員工

例：

William is asking senior staff to bring juniors to client meetings.

William要求資深職員帶上新員工參加客戶會(huì)議。

●senior management 高級(jí)管理層

②older and more experienced than the other members of a team

比其他成員年長(zhǎng)的;比其他成員更有經(jīng)驗(yàn)的

地位(或等級(jí))較低的;年資較淺的

②connected with or involving young people below a particular age

初級(jí)的(低于特定年齡的)

●junior orchestra 初級(jí)組管弦樂(lè)團(tuán)

就像中文里的學(xué)長(zhǎng)學(xué)姐，英文沒(méi)有對(duì)應(yīng)的說(shuō)法，但是口語(yǔ)里也是可以用senior，學(xué)弟學(xué)妹可以用junior.
